Just riding the bike for miles together isn’t complete unless the rider takes care of core fitness, hydration, nutrition & the rest which are as important as the base miles a rider puts through. Training sessions at WERC typically include beach workouts, trainer rides and weekend group rides.
The bouquet of WERC Brevets includes flat beach roads, clean and rolling roads of Mangalore & Udupi, calm forests, trickle of rain drops during the monsoon season and challenging but do-able climbs of Western Ghats.
Bring out the competitive spirit in yourself! WERC organises and participates in competitions like races, criteriums & time trials, where you can test your riding skills with other riders.
Challenge yourself! Climb the equivalent of Mount Everest in one month! Beat your own personal record on some of the most challenging segments! WERC organizes these challenges on a regular basis, designed to push you further, higher, faster. You can do these activities at your own time and convenience.
Being lovers of climbs and with imposing mountains just a short drive away, we will carry our bikes and spin up the gradients huffing and puffing from the mountain's base! One-day-hybrid rides will be announced regularly on WERC's WhatsApp
OUT STATION TOURS
We plan to organise multi-day tours once in four months. Some of the scenic destinations include Chikmagalur, Coorg, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu.
No better way to explore a country than on a bike. WERC will put together once in a year international cycling tours to scenic destinations such Bhutan, Burma, Taiwan, etc.
Typically, 2 days in a week at Tannirbavi beach front. Workouts begin with warm-up, about 3 km of beach run, 3 sets of exercise, followed by cool down. These sessions start at 6:00 am, and last for a duration of 60 to 90 minutes.
WERC is the first cycling club in India to have a registered Zwift global group ride. We R Cycling organises group rides on every Tuesday and Friday at 6:00 am IST. Follow us on Facebook for regular updates on our Zwift group rides.
WERC invites you to weekend rides of rolling terrains and climbs in and around Mangalore, distances of approximately 50 - 100 km. Rides are announced each week on the WERC WhatsApp group, so check there for the route, departure time and who’s leading the ride.
